: Adamo Foods is a new food technology company making delicious, healthy and sustainable alternatives to meat whole cuts. The role
: We are looking for an experienced lab technician to join our team. The ideal candidate should be an expert in biotechnology and lab management,
and have previous experience with microbial fermentation. They should be passionate about technology and sustainability, with a strong entrepreneurial drive.
Key responsibilities:
Perform key lab tests in order to produce reliable data to support scientific investigations
Maintain and operate standard laboratory equipment, including bioreactors.
Carry out routine tasks accurately and following strict methodologies
Help plan and deliver regular fungal biomass fermentations using our bioreactors; this includes preparing fermentation inoculum and media.
Identify, implement and troubleshoot quality and productivity improvements;
Keep equipment in a clean serviceable condition, and develop programmes for food safety, quality control and decreasing downtime;
Ensure safety, food safety, and environmental regulation compliance;
Follow and ensure strict safety procedures and safety checks
Assist with other departments and tasks as needed.
Requirements:
BSc or MSc in Biotechnology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, or similar;
Experience working in a laboratory using bioreactors;
Experience developing and using Standard Operating Procedures;
Thorough understanding of aseptic techniques
A strategic and analytical mind-set, able to find new ways to reach goals;
Excellent communications skills;
Excellent data analysis skills, attention to detail, and record keeping;
Experience in food fermentation is a plus, ideally with filamentous fungi;
Experience with GCMS, LCMS, HPLC or other analytical techniques is a plus, or completing of mass balance of fermentation products
Passion for food, the plant-based industry, and sustainability.
