Are you looking to make a difference in your local community while developing your skills in building maintenance and repairs? We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Labourer Operative to support our responsive and planned maintenance services across social housing properties. Working as part of our Repairs team, you will assist skilled tradespeople, carry out minor repairs, and help ensure our properties are safe, clean and ready for residents. If you have experience in a similar role, strong teamwork and communication skills, and a commitment to excellent customer service, we would love to hear from you.
What’s the role?
To support the delivery of responsive and planned maintenance services across social housing properties. The Labourer will assist tradespeople, carry out basic repairs, and ensure properties and work areas are clean, safe, and ready for occupation or further works.

What we’re looking for
You will have a basic knowledge of building maintenance and repairs, with experience in a labouring, maintenance, or similar role. You will be able to work effectively as part of a team, follow instructions, and communicate confidently with colleagues and residents. You will demonstrate a strong commitment to health and safety and hold a full UK driving licence. Ideally, you will have a relevant qualification, be working towards one, or possess equivalent experience within the building trades. Above all, you will be committed to equality, diversity and inclusion in everything you do.
Location
This role is primarily based in Laurence House, Catford, London, SE6 4RU and across housing properties and council sites within the London Borough of Lewisham. On occasion, you may be required to work at locations outside the borough to meet service needs and work evenings and weekends.

Salary
£34,863-£35,892 per annum (Scale 5)
N.B: All appointments will be offered at the minimum spinal column point (SCP) for the grade of the role. The only exception to this will be when matching current salary (up to the maximum of the scale), which is subject to evidential proof.
