Our client is an established and growing land and property consultancy providing professional advice to landowners, developers, promoters and other stakeholders across the property and development sectors.
They are seeking an experienced Land Manager to join their team and support the identification, assessment and progression of land opportunities.
This is a commercially focused position suited to someone with experience in land agency, development consultancy, strategic land, rural property or a related property discipline.
The successful Land Manager will work closely with landowners, developers, planning consultants, solicitors and technical advisers, managing opportunities from initial identification through to legal agreement, planning promotion, marketing or disposal.
The Role
The Land Manager will be responsible for identifying and assessing potential development and strategic land opportunities, researching land ownership, reviewing planning history and considering relevant local and national planning policy.
You will establish and maintain relationships with landowners, advising them on the potential development and commercial value of their land. This will include undertaking initial site appraisals and considering planning, access, environmental, technical and commercial constraints.
The role will involve negotiating heads of terms for option agreements, promotion agreements, conditional contracts and other land arrangements. You will work alongside solicitors, planning consultants, architects, engineers and other professional advisers to progress each opportunity.
You will also prepare reports, appraisals and recommendations for clients, attend landowner and project meetings, monitor project programmes and provide regular updates throughout each instruction.
As part of the consultancy’s continued growth, you will be expected to identify new instructions, develop professional relationships and build a network of landowners, developers, housebuilders, agents and consultants.
Key Requirements
* Previous experience within land agency, development consultancy, strategic land, property development or rural surveying.
* A good understanding of the land acquisition, planning and development process.

* Strong commercial awareness and the ability to assess development potential.
* Confident communication, relationship-building and negotiation skills.
* The ability to manage multiple land opportunities at different stages.
* A full UK driving licence and the ability to attend sites and client meetings.
A degree or professional qualification in land management, rural surveying, planning, property or real estate would be advantageous.

The Individual
The successful Land Manager will be proactive, commercially minded and confident when dealing with landowners, clients and professional advisers.
