We are currently recruiting for an experienced Laser Programmer to join a well-established manufacturing business.
The successful candidate will be responsible for programming and operating a 3kW laser cutting machine, working with both tube and flat materials. The role will involve CAD input, production planning and ensuring jobs are completed efficiently and to the required quality standards.
This is a hands-on position that would suit someone with previous experience within a laser cutting or metal fabrication environment who has a strong understanding of production processes.
The Role
*
Programming and operating a 3kW tube and flat laser
*
Working with a Bodahl laser cutting machine
*
Producing programs from CAD drawings and customer specifications
*
Completing CAD input and preparing jobs for production
*
Ensuring materials and production schedules are planned effectively
*
Planning production to maximise machine efficiency and minimise downtime
*
Checking drawings, dimensions and specifications prior to production
*
Monitoring the quality of finished components
*
Working closely with the wider production team to ensure deadlines are achieved
*
Carrying out basic machine checks and being aware of general maintenance requirements
*
Identifying and reporting any machine issues or potential problems
*
Operating FLT and overhead crane equipment where required
*
Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment
About You
The ideal candidate will have previous experience working with laser cutting machinery within a manufacturing or metal fabrication environment.
You will ideally have:

Previous experience programming and operating laser cutting machinery
*
Experience working with both tube and flat laser
*
Experience with a 3kW laser
*
Experience using CAD drawings and CAD input
*
Knowledge of metal fabrication and manufacturing processes
*
Good understanding of production planning and machine efficiency
*
Awareness of general machine maintenance and fault reporting
*
A valid FLT licence
*
A valid overhead crane licence
*
Good attention to detail and accuracy
*
The ability to work independently and as part of a production team
*
A proactive approach to identifying and resolving production issues
