About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Laundry Assistant to join a friendly residential care home in Dawlish. You will play an important role in ensuring residents’ clothing and linen are cleaned, well-maintained, and returned to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

Washing, drying, ironing, and folding residents’ clothing and linen
Ensuring all laundry is handled with care and returned correctly
Operating laundry equipment safely and efficiently
Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the laundry area
Sorting and organising laundry items appropriately
Supporting infection control procedures and care home standards
Reporting any damaged or missing items

About You

Previous experience in laundry, housekeeping, or care home environment desirable (not essential)
Reliable, organised, and able to work independently
Good attention to detail
Understanding of hygiene and infection control standards (or willingness to learn)
Friendly and respectful approach when working around residents’ belongings
