This Law firm is a award-winning legal firm based in Leeds. They are looking for a PI Solicitor or Paralegal to join their busy and well-established Psychiatric Injury Department. The department deals with a variety of psychiatric illness matters but specializes in the niche area of Stress at Work claims. ⚖
About the Role
The company is seeking a highly motivated and experienced PI Solicitor or Paralegal to manage an established caseload of Stress at Work claims with the opportunity for future involvement with other psychiatric illness matters. The successful candidate will work under supervision and undertake fee earning work, providing a profitable contribution to the firm.
Key Tasks
Managing (under supervision) a caseload of complex and predominantly multi-track personal injury cases for psychiatric illness caused by stress at work.
Undertaking fee earning work and providing a profitable contribution to the firm.
Discussing and agreeing case tactics and planning with the Team Leader.
Compiling statements.
Compiling Letter of Claims.
Instructing counsel.
Attending conferences.
Assisting with litigation.
Assisting with departmental development.
General administration duties required on files.
Essential Skills
Excellent drafting and attention to detail.
Proclaim knowledge would be an advantage.
Strong customer care and communication skills.
Excellent organisation skills and time management.
Experience
The ideal candidate should have 3-4 years of experience in legal practice.
Essential Experience
Solicitor, Legal Executive or experienced Paralegal with a minimum of 5 years’ fee earning experience.✨
A minimum of 2 years’ experience of dealing with and handling litigated personal injury cases in areas such as Industrial Disease and/or Clinical Negligence.
Desired Experience
Some experience in handling Employment Tribunal cases or good knowledge of employment law in consideration of the overlap between personal injury and employment in stress at work cases.
Experience in working with vulnerable
clients/individuals.
Working knowledge of using the case management system Proclaim
Salary and Working Hours
The salary for this role is dependent upon experience, plus a competitive bonus scheme based on fee income. This is a full-time role from Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 17:00, with flexible home working and at least 3 days requested in the office. Based in Leeds.
