Lead Asset Manager – Solar Renewable Energy

Salary: £52,000 + Annual Bonus
Location: Fully Remote – UK | Some UK Travel Required

A leading renewable energy company is looking for an experienced Lead Asset Manager to join its growing team, managing a portfolio of utility-scale solar assets across the UK.

This is a senior role combining asset management, client management, commercial responsibility and team leadership, with the opportunity to play a key role in the performance and long-term value of a growing renewable energy portfolio.

The Role

As Lead Asset Manager, you will take overall responsibility for the operational, contractual, commercial and financial performance of a portfolio of solar assets.

You will be the key point of contact for clients and site owners, while leading and supporting a team of Asset Managers and coordinating internal teams and external contractors.

Key responsibilities include:

* Manage a portfolio of utility-scale solar assets.

* Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and site owners.

* Lead monthly and quarterly client performance meetings.

* Oversee operational performance, availability, downtime and KPIs.

* Coordinate internal teams and external contractors.

* Identify recurring operational issues and drive corrective actions.

* Manage O&M contracts, service agreements and contractual obligations.

* Review contractual risks, breaches and commercial implications.

* Support contract renewals and change management.

* Manage and monitor OPEX budgets and operational expenditure.

* Identify opportunities to improve portfolio performance and profitability.

* Lead, coach and develop a team of Asset Managers and Solar Analysts.

* Drive continuous improvement and operational excellence.

* Support the onboarding of new solar assets.

About You

We're looking for someone with:

* Previous experience managing solar assets / solar farms or similar renewable energy technologies.

* Strong knowledge of solar technology, SCADA and UK HSE legislation.

* Experience managing O&M contracts and contractual obligations.

* Strong commercial and analytical skills.

* Excellent communication and client management skills.

* Experience leading or mentoring a team.

* Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills.

* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

* A relevant engineering, project management or similar degree is desirable, but significant relevant experience will also be considered.

* A full UK driving licence.
