Lead Asset Manager

Astute's Renewables team is partnered with an established renewable energy business operating across the UK and Ireland to recruit a Lead Asset Manager based in Milton Keynes, with some UK travel required.

The Lead Asset Manager role offers a salary up to £52k depending on experience, along with private healthcare, life assurance, pension, flexible working, and a discretionary performance bonus.

Responsibilities and duties of the Lead Asset Manager role

Reporting to the Senior Operations Manager you will:

Lead the operational, commercial, contractual and financial performance of a portfolio of utility-scale solar assets across the UK.
Act as the primary client contact, building strong stakeholder relationships and ensuring excellent service delivery.
Manage and optimise asset performance, monitoring KPIs, identifying trends and risks, and implementing corrective actions to maximise asset value and minimise downtime.
Oversee O&M contracts, service agreements, contract compliance, renewals and commercial risk management.
Support budgeting and cost control, while identifying revenue-generating opportunities that enhance portfolio profitability and client outcomes.
Lead, mentor and develop a team of Asset Managers, fostering accountability, continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Professional qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

Proven experience managing the technical operations of utility-scale solar assets or similar renewable energy technologies.
Strong understanding of solar technology, asset performance and SCADA systems.
Proven experience managing O&M contracts and contractual obligations.
Strong commercial and analytical skills, with the ability to identify risks, trends and opportunities.
Excellent stakeholder management, communication and negotiation skills.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
Previous experience leading, mentoring or developing a team.
