Lead Controls SI Engineer

Duties/Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver automation projects through their entire lifecycle, from design to handover
- Develop Functional Design Specifications and PLC, HMI, SCADA software
- Conduct bench testing and integrated testing with control panels at our manufacturing facility
- Engage with SI and LV engineering delivery teams and multiple client stakeholders to complete FAT
- Oversee commissioning at client sites and complete SAT
- Manage and mentor a team of 3-5 engineers, ensuring efficient workload distribution
- Collaborate closely with Project Managers to meet contractual milestones
- Review design documents and test software developed by team members

About You
- Minimum of 8 years systems engineering experience
- Strong knowledge of safe working practices near electrical equipment
- High regard for health and safety
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Positive, approachable, and a good team player
- Proficient in PLC and HMI software development using devices from Rockwell Automation, Siemens, Mitsubishi, or Schneider
- Experience with multiple communication protocols such as EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, PROFIBUS DP and PA, Modbus TCP/IP
- Familiarity with SCADA systems and VSDs
- Knowledge and experience in virtual machines (VMWare)
- Strong IT skills including Microsoft Word & Excel
- Full UK driving licence required
