An excellent opportunity awaits an experienced Embedded Firmware Engineer looking for a hands-on leadership position, in a role offering great professional development, training, and growth opportunities.

This company is an engineering and research-driven business and a recognised leader in maritime safety sector.

In this role, you'll be involved in shaping the technical direction and leading the full embedded firmware development lifecycle, from concept and design through to production. You will work closely with senior stakeholders, hardware teams, and mentor the junior software engineers in what is a very research and development-oriented environment. This role is office-based in Margate.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced embedded/firmware engineer looking for a team leadership position. From a technical standpoint, the right person will have strong experience in embedded firmware design for microcontroller-based products. Due to this being a lead role, the right person will also have strong communication and stakeholder skills. As the role is office-based, the person will live within commuting distance of Margate or be open to relocating.

The Role:
*Hands on Technical Leadership of Embedded Software Team
*Leading design and development of embedded firmware for products
*Engage with stakeholders and mentor/lead junior members of the team
*Site based in Margate, 5 days a week

The Person:
*Strong experience in embedded firmware development
*Strong experience in both bare-metal and RTOS development
*Good stakeholder communication and team leadership skills/experience.
*Located within a commutable distance of Margate (Kent), or looking to relocate to the area
