My client, a leading UK wide professional services firm, are looking to hire a Senior Finance Business Partner to join their Liverpool head office.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Finance Business Partner to join a highly respected organisation in Liverpool, playing a pivotal role within the central finance function.

This position offers you the chance to lead and inspire a team of dedicated Finance Business Partners, driving strategic financial insight and supporting operational leaders across multiple departments.

You will be at the heart of shaping financial strategy, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.

If you are passionate about developing people, delivering high-quality financial guidance, and contributing to meaningful outcomes, this role provides an excellent platform for your expertise. Flexible working opportunities and a supportive environment await those who are ready to make a difference.

What you'll do:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Finance Business Partners to promote high performance, continuous improvement, and professional development throughout the finance function.
  • Work collaboratively across departments to ensure alignment between financial, commercial, and operational strategies that underpin organisational success.
  • Guide your team in building trust-based relationships with operational leaders while delivering insightful financial analysis that supports effective decision-making.
  • Oversee the creation and implementation of robust financial models and user-friendly reporting tools tailored to support operational needs and contract requirements.
  • Ensure timely preparation of forecasts, budgets, and long-range plans that reflect both current realities and future ambitions of the organisation.
  • Collaborate with Management Accounts to enhance forecasting accuracy through regular review and refinement of financial models.
  • Lead on providing detailed returns and analysis required for contractual commitments, ensuring all internal and external requests are met promptly.
  • Deliver comprehensive financial analysis and modelling for contract variations as well as commercial decisions that drive sustainable performance.
  • Champion innovation in financial reporting by encouraging adaptability within your team and supporting departmental improvements through ad-hoc analysis.
  • Foster an inclusive culture where accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning are embedded into everyday practice.

What you bring:

  • Fully qualified accountant (such as ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with at least four years' post-qualification experience gained in complex or multi-site organisations.
  • Demonstrated track record in senior finance leadership roles where you have successfully led high-performing teams within fast-moving environments.
  • Extensive experience in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, performance analysis, and business partnering with senior stakeholders including board-level engagement.
  • Strategic thinker who can align detailed financial insight with broader business objectives while communicating clearly with non-financial audiences.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills that foster collaboration across teams along with strong leadership abilities focused on coaching and nurturing talent.
  • High proficiency in using advanced financial systems such as ERP platforms alongside expert knowledge of Excel, Power BI or Adaptive Planning tools.
  • Analytical mindset with proven problem-solving capabilities focused on driving continuous improvement throughout all aspects of finance operations.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities effectively under pressure while maintaining attention to detail in high-volume settings.
  • Commercially astute approach combined with resilience, adaptability to change, integrity, and commitment to ethical standards.
  • Collaborative management style that values inclusivity and supports diversity within the workplace.
