Lead Hardware Design Engineer – Space

This is a senior opportunity for a hardware design engineer with deep space or high-reliability electronics experience who is ready to take on technical leadership and progress into a Hardware Manager role within the next 2-3 years.
 
As part of a multi-disciplinary engineering team, this role will focus on developing FPGA/ASIC-based satellite telecommunication payloads for a variety of orbits, while managing complex hardware development activities.
 
The successful hardware design engineer will take ownership of the hardware product development lifecycle, including specification, design, testing, detailed circuit design, schematic capture, component selection and electronic simulation.
 
Lead Hardware Design Engineer essential skills

10+ years’ hardware design experience (including Space/Aerospace or similar)
Leadership skills
High speed digital design 
Lead Hardware Design Engineer desirable skills

RF design and validation
Radiation effects and mitigation
DC/DC power supply design
Environmental, thermal, safety and EMI/EMC standards

Salary: £85-100k. Perhaps more for the right person
