Lead Management Accountant

• Contract Duration: Up to 12 months
• Location: London (Hybrid – 1-2 days per week in the office)
• Job Type: Part-time (50% of full-time hours)

We are seeking a Lead Management Accountant to head up a team delivering a management accounts function for a Government department. This role is integral to servicing business units, maintaining monthly forecasts, managing budgets, and overseeing invoice reconciliation, audit, and MI functions. The ideal candidate will be a qualified Management Accountant with active SC clearance and experience leading teams within this field.

• Lead and manage a team to deliver a comprehensive management accounts service.
• Maintain monthly forecasts and manage the uploading of annual budgets.
• Conduct invoice reconciliation and manage purchase orders and requisitions.
• Engage with budget holders and teams for effective stakeholder management.
• Handle audit queries from the National Audit Office (NAO).
• Produce management information (MI) and reports.
• Ensure the team provides a focused and stable service to the client.

• Active SC clearance is essential.
• Qualified Management Accountant with proven experience.
• Demonstrated experience in leading management accountant teams.
• Proficient in forecast and stakeholder management.
• Skilled in invoice reconciliation and PO/requisition management.
• Familiarity with audit processes and query management.
• Strong capabilities in MI and reporting.
• Experience with Oracle and Hyperion software.

• Experience with Central Government systems and processes.
• Background in delivering consultancy services to Central Government.
