About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Lead Project Manufacturing Engineer to lead the delivery of manufacturing projects across New Product Introduction (NPI), sustaining engineering, Engineer-to-Order (ETO), and distributed manufacturing.
Leading a team of Project Manufacturing Engineers, you'll ensure manufacturing solutions are delivered safely, efficiently, and on time while driving Manufacturing Readiness, continuous improvement, and operational excellence across the business.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of Project Manufacturing Engineers.
* Manage the manufacturing project portfolio, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to specification.
* Own and improve the Manufacturing Readiness Review (MRR) process.
* Identify and mitigate manufacturing risks before products enter production.
* Work closely with Design Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, and Project teams to deliver successful manufacturing solutions.
* Drive Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives across the department.
* Develop team processes, documentation, KPIs, and visual management systems.
* Manage project expenditure and support governance and audit activities.
About You
We're looking for an experienced Manufacturing or Project Engineering leader with a strong background in delivering engineering projects within a manufacturing environment.
You'll ideally have:
* Proven experience leading manufacturing engineering or project engineering teams.
* Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, industrialisation, and production readiness.
* Experience managing KPIs, business plans, and engineering resources.
* Hands-on experience with Lean Manufacturing tools such as Kaizen, Standard Work, PFMEA, Value Stream Mapping, 6S, and TPM.
* Strong project management and problem-solving skills.
* Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic assemblies.
* Experience using ERP systems and engineering documentation.
* Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
* A proactive approach with a passion for developing people and driving continuous improvement.
Location
This is an on-site role based in Clevedon, North Somerset, leading a Project Manufacturing Engineering team while working closely with Design Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, Operations, and Project teams.
