Job Description - Lead Occupational Therapist

Lead Occupational Therapist - Schools Service Development

?? Location: West London
?? Contract: Full-time, Permanent (Term-time only considered)
?? Salary:£53,800 - £59,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
?? Start Date: ASAP

Are you an experienced and inspirational Occupational Therapist looking to take the next big step in your career?

We have a unique and exciting opportunity for a confident, creative and strategic OT to establish and lead a brand-new Occupational Therapy service across multiple schools.

As the only OT in a forward-thinking team, you will have the chance to shape, grow and influence how OT is delivered in educational settings—making a meaningful difference from day one.

The Role
  • Full-time position split between:

    • 2.5-3 days clinical work delivering specialist OT input across mainstream schools

    • 2-2.5 days strategic work designing, developing and leading OT provision across schools and settings

  • Build effective working relationships with school staff, SENCOs, parents and wider professionals

  • Set up systems, protocols and models of OT service delivery tailored to the schools’ needs

  • Support school readiness, motor coordination, sensory regulation, and functional independence in children and young people

  • Offer training and capacity-building support to education teams

About You
  • HCPC-registered Occupational Therapist

  • UK-based OT experience is essential, ideally within paediatrics or schools

  • Experience at Band 6 or 7 level with strong clinical reasoning skills

  • A natural leader with excellent communication and service development skills

  • Confident working independently and ready to be the clinical lead for OT in the team

  • Personable, proactive and genuinely passionate about improving outcomes for children and young people

  • A dynamic, inspiring presence who can motivate others and deliver real change
