Job Description - Lead Product Manager, CPMS & Operations

Entity:

Customers & Products

Job Family Group:

Marketing Group

Job Description:

Please note that roles based out of SJS or Sunbury will move to Timber Square, Southwark, from Q4 2027

At bp pulse, we are accelerating the global transition to electric mobility by building one of the fastest‑growing EV charging networks in the world. This role sits at the center of that ambition. As the Lead Product Manager for CPMS and Operations, you shape the systems that power our charging infrastructure across the UK, Europe, the US, and ANZ. You bring together strategy, delivery, customer insight, and operational excellence to ensure our products scale effectively and deliver meaningful value. This is a role for someone who can navigate complexity, influence across disciplines, and turn long‑term vision into practical, measurable outcomes.

What You Will Lead and Deliver

This position blends strategic leadership with deep operational ownership. It requires setting a clear product direction for CPMS and Operations, ensuring global alignment across markets, and translating customer needs, market trends, and business priorities into a roadmap that drives bp pulse forward. You will guide cross‑functional teams, shape governance and performance frameworks, and ensure that product decisions are grounded in data, customer insight, and operational realities. You will also play a central role in how the organization understands product performance—owning dashboards, leading SteerCo discussions, and driving continuous improvement across regions.

To support this strategic work, you will be accountable for the following core responsibilities:

  • Domain Expertise — Serve as the subject matter expert for CPMS and Operations, including CPMS, the OCPP gateway, SAP, the data lake, and Power BI.

  • Product Strategy and Roadmap — Develop and execute the global product strategy; maintain and prioritize the roadmap based on customer needs, market analysis, and business value.

  • Execution and Delivery Leadership — Lead discovery missions; manage delivery against scope, budget, and quality; follow bp’s standard processes; and coordinate large indirect teams and contractors.

  • Performance and Governance — Establish and track KPIs; own the global product performance dashboard; and present progress in SteerCos and monthly/quarterly reviews.

  • Stakeholder and Customer Alignment — Collaborate across engineering, design, marketing, and sales; define product requirements and guardrails; and ensure customer feedback informs product development.

Who Thrives in This Role

Success in this role requires someone who can move fluidly between vision and execution, who is energized by ambiguity, and who brings clarity to complex environments. You influence executives, empower teams, and stay grounded in what customers truly need. You are motivated by impact, committed to iterative delivery, and comfortable guiding diverse groups toward shared outcomes.

You will thrive here if you are:

  • Intellectually curious, able to navigate between big ideas and executional realities, comfortable with ambiguity, and eager to learn.

  • A communicator and influencer who can articulate product vision clearly and listen deeply to diverse perspectives.

  • A do‑er with a bias toward action, committed to iterative delivery and focused on creating minimum viable—and ultimately minimum lovable—experiences.

  • Passionate about customers, able to build strong relationships, and committed to understanding their needs.

  • A learner who approaches new technologies with humility and seeks internal solutions.

  • A team player who enjoys working with diverse groups, coaching others, and guiding pods or sprint teams toward meaningful outcomes.

  • Experienced in human‑centered design, analytics, business modeling, and iterative MVP development, with the ability to influence across disciplines and organizations.

Why join our team?

We support our people to learn and grow in a diverse and challenging environment. We believe that our team is strengthened by diversity. We are committed to crafting an inclusive environment in which everyone is respected and treated fairly.

There are many aspects of our employees’ lives that are meaningful, so we offer benefits to enable your work to fit with your life. These benefits can include flexible working options, collaboration spaces in a modern office environment, and many others benefits!
