Lead Reinsurance Pricing Actuary | Lloyd's Syndicate

Selby Jennings are working with a fast-growing Lloyd's market (re)insurer to secure a Lead Reinsurance Pricing Actuary into a key role within their growing pricing function.

This is a strategic leadership position focused on reinsurance pricing across property and specialty classes, supporting the group's continued expansion. The role offers significant visibility, combining technical pricing expertise with team management and cross-functional collaboration.

Rather than being limited to routine tasks, this opportunity involves designing and implementing pricing models, developing underwriter tools, and driving innovation in pricing methodologies. For the right individual, this role provides a clear path to senior leadership within the pricing team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead reinsurance pricing across property and specialty classes
• Design and implement pricing models and processes
• Develop and maintain underwriter pricing tools and assumptions
• Collaborate with exposure management to integrate catastrophe models into pricing
• Drive pricing development projects such as inflation studies and RI optimisation
• Manage and mentor junior team members
• Support regulatory compliance and internal model validation

Role Requirements:

• Qualified actuary (FIA or equivalent)
• Strong technical pricing experience, ideally in property and specialty reinsurance
• Excellent communication skills with ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Experience in model development and insurance data management
• Programming skills in R or Python advantageous
• Ambition to lead and drive innovation within a fast-growing environment
