As we continue to grow, we are looking for a technical lead to join our team and help to shape our technology and development services.

The role:

As a technical lead, you’ll play a key role in delivering our application and technology development services, leading on solution design for a small team with big ambitions. You will also play a key role in building, mentoring, and growing our development team as well as shaping our internal development processes and how we work.

You’ll have the opportunity to work with a great team to develop and implement new and innovative technology solutions for some of the world’s largest Life Science and Financial companies, as well as the below:

Lead the development team in shaping and implementing processes to enhance project quality and efficiency.
Provide technical support across projects to resolve issues and actively contributing to development tasks when needed.
Conduct regular team reviews to evaluate skill development progress and assess contributions to team and project outcomes.
Grow the development team by using both permanent and external resources, to meet evolving business needs and project requirements.
Collaborate with technical and non-technical colleagues to define best-suited technology approaches for clients' projects.
Engage with clients to explore solutions and identify commercial opportunities for new projects or cost-saving measures in existing ones.
Take a lead in defining development service, product, and process solutions aligned with organizational objectives.
Be forward-thinking in adopting new technologies and frameworks with commercial merit.

Working closely with internal teams, you’ll be a key team member helping define the solutions we build and services we offer. You will be able to contribute throughout project lifecycles from inception to launch.
We are a supportive and highly collaborative team, and enjoy working together to ensure alignment and consistency in customer deliverables.

Skills and experience you will bring:

We appreciate every technical environment looks different. Here, we use PHP and its modern frameworks for development and design and manage infrastructures in AWS.
You might not have everything on the list, but if you have experience in our core environment and other transferrable technologies, we still encourage you to apply.

Most importantly, we are looking for an inspirational leader who has either managed, or formally mentored, a team of developers in either a Lead or Senior role previously.

Technical Expertise:
A relevant degree in Computer Science or demonstrable industry experience.
Proficient in modern PHP 7+ development, MVC/CMS frameworks such as Laravel, Sulu, Symphony
Strong understanding of Front-end Frameworks, ideally React or Vue, CSS frameworks, ideally Bootstrap, Tailwind.
Comfortable working in Pre-Processors like SASS and experienced in Front-end tools/compilers
Experience with database management (MySQL, Aurora, AWS RDS configuration), git source control, and web server configuration (Apache, Nginx).
Familiarity with Docker for development environments and CI/CD pipelines.

Infrastructure and Cloud Services:
Experience designing and managing robust, high availability infrastructure in AWS, with focus on: EC2, ALB, RDS, S3
Comfortable with IdP and SSO solutions (e.g., Okta, Microsoft or Gigya) and adhering to Info Sec policies and best practices.
