Job Description - Lead Software Support Analyst

Lead Software Support Analyst
Location: Newport (Hybrid – 1 day on-site per week, additional days initially for onboarding)
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000
Type: Full-time, Permanent

VIQU is partnering with a well-established public sector organisation to recruit a Lead Software Support Analyst. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong leadership skills to manage a small team and oversee the timely resolution of software application issues within a mission-driven and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a small support team, ensuring effective day-to-day operations

  • Oversee the timely resolution of software application issues, prioritising customer satisfaction

  • Work closely with developers by carrying out technical support tasks typically handled by the development team

  • Manage and support CI/CD pipelines and related processes using Azure DevOps

  • Maintain and troubleshoot SQL databases and related software components

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure smooth software deployment and operation

  • Participate in initial onboarding with additional on-site days to familiarize yourself with systems and processes

  • Provide mentorship and guidance to team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement

Key Requirements:

  • Proven leadership experience managing a small team in a software support or similar environment

  • Strong experience with CI/CD pipelines and Azure DevOps

  • Proficient in SQL database management and troubleshooting

  • Experience performing technical tasks that support development activities

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills

  • Ability to work independently and within a team

  • Willingness to work 1 day per week on-site with flexibility for additional days during onboarding
