Job Description - Lead Technician

We are delighted to announce a brand new opportunity with our client, Nami Surgical Ltd. This is an exciting start-up business focusing on developing high-performance miniaturised ultrasonic scalpels for Robotic Assisted Surgery (RAS) and with a global ambition to significantly impact the medical offering within the surgical robotic market.

Robot-assisted surgery has become increasingly popular in recent years and is now widely used in various surgical procedures such as urology, gynaecology, and cardiology. These surgeries are performed using robotic systems which provide the surgeon with improved dexterity and visualisation, leading to greater precision and reduced invasiveness.

Nami is seeking a Lead Technician to manage their prototyping CNC laboratory. The Lead Technician’s role will be instrumental in the physical build of the tool and as such will be key in specifying the correct and appropriate equipment and machine tooling and designing the physical build process. The role will be highly collaborative, working closely with the Engineering Team and OEM resources to successfully bring products from prototype to scale manufacture.

You will have the opportunity to plan the layout, select CNC machines and tooling and install workstations with CAD/CAM software. In the MedTech-regulated environment, you will be responsible for implementing quality control, establishing a maintenance schedule, and documenting programs and settings.

This is a unique and exciting opportunity to be a key contributor in the company – offering the chance to work in a highly collaborative environment and thrive in a dynamic and innovative atmosphere.

The ideal candidate will meet the below requirements;
5 years’+ experience in a similar role, preferably within a MedTech environment
Experience in operating CNC machines and assembly
Ability to read process sheets, blueprints and sketches of parts to determine machining requirements, dimensional specifications, set- up and operating requirements.
