Job Description

Theatre Scrub Lead - Private Hospital - Hatfield - Up to £45,000 (dependent on skillset and experience), - Full time

Monday to Friday with some Saturday shifts as required

The Private Hospital is currently seeking a dedicated Theatre Scrub Lead with a focus on scrub-side responsibilities. Experience across various specialties is highly desirable for this role, which entails ensuring the availability of correct equipment and consumables, supporting fellow staff members, and liaising with consultants regarding specialized products.

Theatre Scrub Lead Main Responsibilities:
• Provide leadership and development, ensuring evidence-based practice and adherence to clinical standards.
• Maintain a safe working environment for both patients and team members.
• Ensure delivery of pathways to the hospital's expected standards and quality.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement, emphasizing high-quality, safe, and effective care provision.
• Uphold CQC standards and ensure satisfactory audit and clinical practice documentation.
• Assess and maintain own and team members' competencies, completing appraisal and performance review objectives.
• Efficiently manage supplies and equipment by liaising with the supplies team.
• Act as a deputy in the absence of the theatre lead.
• Complete all mandatory training within set timelines.
• Take personal accountability for identifying own learning needs and engage in continuing education for professional development.
• Provide informal staff progress reports and manage work rota for recovery and anaesthetic staff.

Criteria for Theatre Scrub Lead:
• Registration with the NMC/HCPC.
• High standards of clinical competence.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven ability to lead a team effectively and independently.
• Demonstrated customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in computer skills, including MS Office suites, HRIS, audit tools (e.g., Sentinel), and other portals.
• Ability to plan equipment and consumable requirements.

Desirable Qualifications:
• Experience in orthopaedics, specifically in hip arthroplasty, knee arthroplasty, and anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction, though not essential.
• Previous experience in a private healthcare setting.
