Job Description - Learning and Development Manager

Our FMCG Client based between Spalding and Boston are looking to recruit a Learning and Development Manager on a fulltime permanent basis. In this brand new created position, you will report into the Head of HR and be a strategic and hands-on Learning & Development Manager who will lead the design, implementation, and management of the overall training strategy. This role will be instrumental in aligning learning initiatives with our clients People Strategy and broader business goals, helping to build a high-performing and future-ready team.

Job Role of Learning and Development Manager:-

Learning Strategy & Alignment

  • Lead the development and continuous refinement of the L&D strategy to support the overall People Strategy goals.
  • Ensure learning plans are aligned with current and future capability needs.

Learning Needs Analysis & Competency Frameworks

  • Conduct business wide training needs assessments.
  • Develop and manage competency frameworks across functions to support role-based development.
  • Translate business requirements into learning and capability-building programmes.

Programme Design & Delivery

  • Design and deliver scalable learning programmes, including e-learning, blended learning, and in-person training.
  • Coordinate and contribute to internal learning initiatives such as workshops, onboarding sessions, and leadership development.

Learning Operations & Systems

  • Oversee the use and optimisation of learning management systems to ensure effective tracking, delivery, and reporting.
  • Maintain accurate training records and support compliance-related learning requirements.

Vendor Management

  • Identify, manage, and evaluate relationships with external training providers and consultants.
  • Ensure outsourced programmes meet quality standards, budget parameters, and business needs.

Impact Measurement & Reporting

  • Monitor and report on L&D activity, participation, and outcomes.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness and ROI of learning and make continuous improvements.

As this is a brand-new role to the company you really do have the chance to make this role your own and put your own skills and knowledge into this expanding company that employs close to 300 staff across 2 sites.

To be considered for this role you MUST have a proven experience in a Learning & Development role, ideally within a fast-paced or change-driven environment. Strong understanding of learning principles and L&D methodologies and Experience with learning platforms and systems.

The company offer a salary up to £50,000 plus benefits including 34 days holiday inclusive of statutory holidays plus the real chance to make an impact in a growing business.
