Job Title: Learning Mentor - SEND & Pastoral Support Area: Bury, Greater Manchester Start Date: September 2026 Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent Daily Rate: £550 - £700 per week (depending on experience) Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm, Term time

About the Role:
As a Learning Mentor, you'll be the consistent, trusted figure that some of the school's most vulnerable students rely on. You'll work across pastoral and academic support - helping students navigate challenges, build resilience, and stay connected to their learning. This is a role that demands empathy, creativity, and a genuine belief in the potential of every young person, regardless of where they're starting from.
What We're Looking For:
Experience in a mentoring, pastoral, or student support role - ideally within a SEND or specialist school setting A strong understanding of SEMH, ASD, and the barriers facing young people with complex needs Warm, patient, and solutions-focused with high expectations for every student Confident communicating with students, families, and multi-disciplinary professionals Experience supporting students through transitions or into post-16 provision is desirable A background in youth work, psychology, education, or social care is an advantageTo Be Eligible You Must:
Hold Right to Work in the UK Have an enhanced DBS certificate already on the update service or be willing to apply for a new one Provide two professional references from child-related roles Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
