Learning Support Assistant

We are seeking three Learning Support Assistants to join our team at the Kent Campus. This role is crucial in providing support to fully funded EHCP learners, starting from September. The position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about facilitating an inclusive learning environment and assisting students with specific needs.

• Provide tailored support to students with EHCPs, ensuring they can fully participate in their courses and campus activities.
• Specifically, support a female student on the Health & Social Care (H&SC) course, requiring assistance in vocational settings as well as in Maths and English classes.
• Work closely with teaching staff to implement strategies that enhance the learning experience for students.
• Monitor and report on the progress of students, maintaining regular communication with teachers and parents/guardians.
• Adapt to the varying needs of students on a day-to-day basis, ensuring all support provided aligns with their individual education plans (IEPs).

• Experience in a support role within an educational setting, particularly supporting students with additional needs.
• Strong understanding of the challenges faced by learners with physical and learning disabilities.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of working effectively with students, staff, and parents.
• Patience, empathy, and a dedicated approach to student welfare and education.
• Ability to work flexibly and responsively in a dynamic educational environment.
