Learning Support Assistant

We are currently seeking three dedicated Learning Support Assistants to join our team at the South East London Campus. This role is essential in providing support to fully funded EHCP learners, starting from September. It is an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about creating an inclusive educational environment and assisting students with specific educational needs.

• Provide tailored support to students with EHCPs, ensuring they can fully participate in their courses and campus activities.
• Assist students in practical workshop settings, such as those on the Electrical course, offering general assistance due to physical or learning needs.
• Support students in academic settings, particularly in Maths and English classes, helping them to understand the material and complete assignments.
• Collaborate closely with teaching staff to implement effective support strategies that enhance the learning experience for students.
• Monitor and report on the progress of students, maintaining regular communication with teachers and parents/guardians.
• Adapt to the varying needs of students on a day-to-day basis, ensuring all support provided aligns with their individual education plans (IEPs).

• Experience in a support role within an educational setting, particularly supporting students with additional needs.
• Strong understanding of the challenges faced by learners with physical and learning disabilities.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of working effectively with students, staff, and parents.
• Patience, empathy, and a dedicated approach to student welfare and education.
• Ability to work flexibly and responsively in a dynamic educational environment.
