Learning Support Assistant - Year 5 Behaviour and SEMH Support - Haringey

An established Primary School in Haringey is looking for an experienced and resilient Learning Support Assistant to work 1:1 with a Year 5 pupil presenting challenging behaviour and SEMH needs. This Learning Support Assistant role is ideal for someone with strong emotional intelligence and the ability to build positive relationships with children who require consistent support.

The successful Learning Support Assistant will work under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCo to implement tailored behaviour and emotional regulation strategies, helping the pupil remain engaged in their learning.

Responsibilities for the Learning Support Assistant:

Provide consistent 1:1 behaviour and academic support.

Use de-escalation and positive behaviour management strategies.

Collaborate with the SENCo and external professionals where needed.

Encourage resilience, self-confidence, and emotional regulation.

Requirements:

Proven experience as a Learning Support Assistant or SEN Teaching Assistant.

Strong behaviour management and interpersonal skills.

Psychology graduates are welcome to apply.

Role: Learning Support Assistant (Behaviour Focus)

Location: Haringey, North London

Hours: 8:30am - 4:00pm

Pay: £85-£100 per day (depending on experience and severity of need)

Contract: Long-term, ongoing

Start Date: Immediate
