Job Description - Learning Support Assistant

Learning Support Assistant – SEN School
Full-Time | Long-Term | February 2026 Start | Borehamwood

Supply Desk is excited to partner with a nurturing SEN school in Borehamwood to recruit a dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) for a full-time, long-term role starting in February 2026.

The Role:

You will work alongside teaching staff and the SENCO to provide tailored support across Key Stage 1. Your role will be shaped by your experience and the specific needs of the pupils, ensuring that every child receives the support they need to succeed.

Key Duties:

Deliver focused interventions in literacy, numeracy, and emotional development.

Assist in the implementation and review of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).

Encourage positive behaviour and active participation in lessons.

Build strong, supportive relationships with pupils and colleagues.

Adapt learning resources to meet the individual learning styles of students.

Track pupil progress and provide constructive feedback to the class teacher.

Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment.

What We’re Looking For:

Previous experience working with children, ideally in a primary school or SEN setting.

A calm, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting students.

Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Flexibility and a genuine passion for helping children succeed.

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
