Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm (32.5 hours per week)
Salary: £13.05 - £14.84 per hour (H4/H5) depending on qualifications and experience
We are working on behalf of a wonderful specialist school in St Albans, established in 1975, providing outstanding education for deaf children and young people. As a Learning Support Assistant (LSA), you will support small classes of deaf pupils, working closely with teachers to provide a nurturing, inclusive learning environment and ensuring every child achieves their full potential.
Key ResponsibilitiesProvide in-class and small group support to deaf pupils.
Promote pupils' academic, social, and emotional development.
Support with specialist communication needs, including British Sign Language (BSL) (training provided if required).
Assist teachers in preparing resources and delivering personalised learning programmes.
Maintain a safe and inclusive environment, following school policies and safeguarding procedures.
The successful candidate will:
Have good communication skills, including a willingness to develop BSL skills (BSL Level 3 desirable).
Demonstrate empathy, patience, and a commitment to supporting children's learning.
Possess strong organisation, teamwork, and time management skills.
Be flexible, proactive, and committed to ongoing professional development.
Hold Level 2 English (or equivalent) and ICT skills to support classroom learning.
