Learning Support Assistant - Wokingham
Year 6 | EOTAS Provision | 1:1 SEND Support | Flexible Hours
Are you an experienced Learning Support Assistant who is passionate about helping children with SEND thrive?
Quantum Scholars is looking for a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to provide 1:1 support to a Year 6 pupil in Wokingham who is currently accessing Education Otherwise Than At School (EOTAS) provision.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys building genuine relationships with young people and understands that progress isn't always about what happens in a classroom. You'll play an important role in helping a young person feel comfortable, supported and confident in their learning environment.
About the Role:
You will provide individualised 1:1 learning support to a Year 6 pupil with Autism (ASD) and Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA).
The role will involve working from the pupil's home in Wokingham, providing a calm, consistent and supportive environment where the pupil can engage with their education at their own pace.
Hours: 10 hours per week Start: September 2026 Days & Times: Completely flexible Location: Wokingham - home-based
Duration: Full academic year, with potential to extend Support: 1:1 Year Group: Year 6
What We're Looking For:
We're looking for someone who is patient, adaptable and genuinely passionate about supporting children with additional needs.
You should have:
Experience supporting SEND pupils on a 1:1 basis A good understanding of Autism and/or PDA The ability to build a trusting and positive relationship with a young person A calm, patient and nurturing approach The ability to adapt your approach to meet individual needs Strong communication and interpersonal skills A genuine commitment to helping young people make progress and develop their confidencePrevious experience within EOTAS, alternative provision, SEN schools, specialist settings or 1:1 support would be highly desirable.
