Job Description - Lecturer in Computing

Lecturer in Computing
Location: Wigan
Salary: £28,412 - £38,129 per annum (dependent on experience and qualifications)
Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent

We are seeking an enthusiastic and innovative Computing Lecturer to join our teaching team. The successful candidate will deliver engaging and high-quality teaching across a range of Computing and IT courses, inspiring learners to develop the knowledge and skills needed to progress into higher education or employment in the digital sector.

Role Responsibilities

  • Deliver outstanding teaching on a range of Computing courses from Level 1 to Higher Education.
  • Plan, prepare, and assess lessons and assignments to meet awarding body requirements.
  • Support and motivate students to achieve their full academic and career potential.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement.
  • Act as a personal tutor, monitoring student progress and wellbeing.

Essential Requirements

  • A degree in Computing, IT, or a related field.
  • Experience teaching Computing in an FE or HE environment.
  • Strong subject knowledge across areas such as programming, networking, or emerging technologies.
  • A recognised teaching qualification is desirable, but full support will be provided to gain one if not already held.
