Lecturer – Uniformed Services ?? Uxbridge ?? £32,455 to £45,260 per annum (including London Weighting) ?? Teacher training provided ?? Full-Time
An exciting opportunity is available for a passionate and motivated professional to join the team as a Lecturer in Uniformed Services in Uxbridge. This role involves teaching across a range of Policing and Uniformed Services programmes, including NCFE Levels 1–5 and Higher National Diplomas (HE).
You’ll play a key role in preparing learners aged 16–19 for careers in policing, emergency services, or the armed forces — combining classroom delivery with hands-on learning, outdoor residentials, and fitness-based sessions. A full driving licence is required, and the ability to drive a minibus — or a willingness to complete the necessary training — is essential.
Key Responsibilities:Teaching & Learning:
Deliver engaging and effective teaching sessions across multiple qualification levels
Support and deliver elements of fitness training
Attend and support outdoor and residential activities
Maintain up-to-date, accessible subject resources
Prepare students for employment, further study, and career progression
Student Support & Guidance:
Lead student inductions and help design engaging induction programmes
Monitor academic progress through regular reviews and complete relevant documentation
Act as a personal tutor where required, supporting attendance, retention, and achievement
Make timely referrals to support services and ensure students receive appropriate guidance
Carry out initial and diagnostic assessments where applicable, ensuring students’ support needs are met
Recruitment & Engagement:
Participate in open evenings and recruitment events, providing accurate course and career information
Interview potential applicants and support the School’s recruitment schedule
Help shape and deliver the School’s marketing and recruitment strategies
Produce student reports and attend parent/employer information events
Contribute to enrichment activities, including volunteering and work experience opportunities
What We’re Looking For:
A minimum of a Level 3 qualification
Relevant experience in the Police, Armed Forces, or other Emergency Services
Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate and support young people
Teaching or training experience is an advantage but not essential
A willingness to undertake a fully funded teaching qualification, if not already held
