Legal Advisor - Contracts

We are currently partnering with a university based in London, who are recruiting for a contracts/commercial lawyer to join their growing team on a permanent basis.

This is a full-time position and the start date is subject to notice.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

• Drafting, reviewing, and amending HEI-specific and general contracts and providing legal advice on governance, regulations, and compliance.

• Assessing legal risks, managing external counsel, overseeing litigation, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

• Leading the Legal Services team, mentoring staff, developing legal resources, and driving service improvements.

• Advising on policies, governance, and legal compliance. Representing the University externally and leading complex negotiations.

• Delivering training, reviewing governance frameworks, and monitoring legal developments to ensure compliance.

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

• Qualified solicitor, barrister, or legal executive

• Substantial relevant PQE

• Extensive experience in the HEI sector

Working hours:

• Monday - Friday

• 9am-5pm
