Legal Cashier

Reed accountancy are representing a long-established and highly regarded legal practice with a strong reputation in property, private client, and employment law.

An opportunity has arisen for a Legal Cashier to join the team on a full-time or part-time basis. The successful candidate will work closely with both in-house staff and outsourced cashiering support, ensuring a well-supported and efficient finance function.

Key Responsibilities:

• Opening and closing client account files
• Maintaining accurate financial records in line with regulatory requirements
• Inputting financial data and processing transactions
• Monthly reconciliations and month-end checks
• Preparing quarterly and annual VAT returns
• Managing banking, payments, and petty cash
• Invoicing and credit control
• Liaising with fee earners and support staff as needed

Requirements:

• Previous experience as a Legal Cashier within a Scottish law firm is essential
• Strong understanding of Scottish Solicitors’ Accounts Rules
• Proficiency with legal accounting software and general IT systems
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
