I'm working on behalf of a long-established and highly respected legal firm in Newport, who are now looking to appoint an experienced Legal Cashier to join their friendly and professional finance team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong background in legal finance to join a firm that values accuracy, integrity, and a collaborative approach to work.

• Processing client and office account transactions in line with Solicitors Accounts Rules (SAR)

• Daily banking, bank reconciliations, and processing BACS/CHAPS payments

• Monitoring and maintaining accurate records of incoming and outgoing funds

• Handling financial queries from fee earners and clients

• Assisting with month-end and year-end procedures

• Liaising with external accountants and auditors as needed

• Previous experience in a Legal Cashier role within a law firm is essential

• In-depth knowledge of Solicitors Accounts Rules

• Proficient with legal accounting software (e.g. LEAP, SOS, or similar)

• Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills

• A proactive, team-oriented approach and ability to manage your own workload

• Salary up to £30,000 depending on experience
