Job Description - Legal Cashier

Douglas Scott is proud to be working with a well-established law firm looking to appoint an experienced Legal Cashier to support their busy finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a respected firm and play a key role in ensuring compliance with Solicitors Accounts Rules.

The Role:

Working closely with the Head of Department, you’ll manage a wide range of legal cashiering duties and be a reliable point of contact for finance-related matters across the firm.

Key Responsibilities:

Posting receipts, cheques, and purchase ledger invoices
Making payments via bank transfer and issuing cheques
Administering client banking and maintaining registers
Handling petty cash and completing bank reconciliations
Producing weekly finance reports
Ensuring full compliance with the Solicitors Accounts Rules

What You’ll Need:

Proven experience as a Legal Cashier within a law firm
Strong understanding of legal accounts and compliance
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
Confidence to work independently with minimal supervision
Strong Excel skills (advantageous)
A proactive, team-oriented mindset
