Legal Cashier

Pentagon Talent are delighted to be partnering with a leading international law firm to recruit a detail-focused and experienced Legal Cashier to join their high-performing Finance team in their Chelmsford office. As a Legal Cashier within a global practice, you will play a pivotal role in supporting day-to-day financial operations, ensuring compliance with Solicitors' Accounts Rules and jurisdictional Law Society regulations, whilst delivering a first-class internal client service.

Key Responsibilities:

· Process client and office account transactions, including lodgements, transfers and payments, in line with regulatory requirements
· Manage daily disbursement payment runs and urgent office payments across multiple jurisdictions
· Post accurate financial transactions into the firm's finance system, ensuring compliance with SRA Accounts Rules
· Provide support to international offices, ensuring adherence to local accounts rules and regulations
· Undertake daily bank reconciliations, allocations and management of unidentified receipts
· Assist with client interest calculations, reconciliation of settlement funds and account management
· Liaise with internal and external stakeholders in a professional and proactive manner to resolve queries

The ideal Legal Cashier will:

· Bring proven experience in legal cashiering, ideally within a law firm environment
· Demonstrate a sound knowledge of Solicitors' Accounts Rules and wider regulatory standards
· Be confident handling high volumes of transactions with strong attention to detail
· Possess excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach when working across teams
· Have strong IT skills, ideally with experience of legal finance systems such as Elite 3E or similar
