Compliance Assistant
Location: City Centre (Hybrid working available – 2 days per week after 6-month probation)
Salary: £24,000 – £25,000 per annum
Hours: Full-time, 35 hours per week

About the Role

We’re seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Legal Compliance Assistant to join our established clients onboarding and compliance team. This role is ideal for someone eager to grow within the compliance function of a professional services environment, particularly within the legal sector.

Please note: This position focuses on client and entity onboarding into our case management system – not staff onboarding.

Key Responsibilities

• Support fee earners with smooth client onboarding and new matter setup.
• Conduct conflict checks and verify ID documents, ensuring AML compliance.
• Perform smart searches to verify clients both nationally and internationally.
• Respond to client queries and collaborate with internal teams to improve processes.

Skills & Experience

• Previous experience in a similar role, ideally within a professional services setting.
• Good organisational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with legal software is a plus (especially Partner for Windows).
• Interest in developing a career within compliance in the legal sector.
