Legal & Compliance Manager

Coopman Search and Selection are delighted to partner with a growing alternative investment manager with circa £7 billion AUM. This role is a newly created role and will report into the General Counsel & Chief Compliance Officer. In this role you will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the compliance programme, as well as supporting on wider legal responsibilities. This person is seen medium-long term to be the Head of Compliance (SMF16/17).

Key Responsibilities:
Compliance oversight and monitoring activities of the firm
Provide advice to the business on key FCA regulatory requirements
Updating and managing the firm’s compliance policies and procedures
Maintaining employee certifications in accordance with the FCA’s Senior Management Certification Regime
Supporting on agreements such as third-party marketing agreements, research agreements, IMAs, management company contracts etc.
Providing compliance input on a range of projects
Building strong compliance relationships with the business

Experience Required:
Minimum of 2 years of compliance & legal experience within an asset management
Legal qualifications are desirable although not essential.
Experience with AIFMD regulations.
Strong stakeholder management skills
