Legal Counsel

Red Recruitment is recruiting a Legal Counsel to join our client, a telecoms and technology company who are recognised as a leader in their field. This role is suitable for a professional person who is looking to progress their career with an exciting and innovative company.

Benefits and Package for a Legal Counsel:

• Salary: £65,000 - £70,000 per annum
• Hours: Monday - Friday, 9am - 5.30pm
• Contract type: Permanent
• Location: London/Solihull
• Home working but willing to travel as and when required by the business

Key Responsibilities of a Legal Counsel:

• Providing pragmatic and commercial legal advice to the business
• Liaising with the business units and manage workload and expectations
• Drafting and negotiating partner, customer and supplier contracts
• Updating precedent contracts and terms and conditions as and when required
• Leading and project managing matters relating to a contract, for example ensuring service descriptions, service levels, charges and other commercial, financial and operational matters have been approved by the relevant person in the business
• Advising the business on the interpretation of commercial contracts

Key Skills and Experience of a Legal Counsel:

• Qualified solicitor of England and Wales (4-8 years post qualification experience)
• General commercial or telecommunications and technology sector experience
• Attention to detail and accuracy are essential
• Able to work autonomously and to handle numerous competing matters at the same time, effectively prioritising those matters and keeping the business updated in the process
• Must be able to problem solve, identifying pragmatic commercial solutions to meet the requirements of the business
• Excellent interpersonal skills, being able to communicate at all levels of the business
• Proficient user of Microsoft Windows, Word, PowerPoint and Excel
