Job Description

We require a junior Legal Counsel to work across Teya Legal team, with a particular focus on operational legal work. Responsibilities would include:
Working with senior members of the legal team to provide day-to-day advice to the Teya business on a broad range of issues, but with a particular focus on employment, commercial and corporate law matters.
Assisting with a variety of employment matters, including implementation and administration of the Company's employee incentive schemes, recruitment, disciplinary and grievance matters, and employment tribunal proceedings.
Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a variety of commercial agreements to support the wider business.
Helping with corporate governance projects, overseeing corporate transactions and helping out with day-to-day business enquiries.
Liaising with local counsel and local teams within the Teya network.
Supporting with building and improving processes in the team and how it works with the business.
Assisting with training stakeholders and leaders in respect of legal issues and best practice.

Qualifications

Qualified solicitor (0-1 PQE) in England and Wales
Fluency in English
Experience in employment law preferable, ideally as part of a formal training program
An interest in the in-house legal world and the fintech industry
Hands-on attitude and ability to take initiative
Pragmatic and commercial approach to legal issues; ability to problem solve and think strategically in helping Teya achieve its goals
Solutions-oriented approach to legal and commercial risk
Effective communication skills and an ability to work effectively with the wider business
