Legal Counsel - Insurance

Job DescriptionA major player in the Insurance Broking space are seeking a Legal Counsel to join their growing legal function.This is a first Insurance Lawyer hire for the team, so you will have a great deal of autonomy and responsibility from day one. The role will report to an exceptional Deputy General Counsel with over 7 years experience at the company.You will be responsible for the following:Shaping the companies approach to Commercial Insurance Agreements.Drafting and negotiation TOBAs, DUAs, Introducer Agreements, AR agreements and other key contractual matters within Insurance.Advising key stakeholders on the regulatory landscape in Insurance, notably Consumer Duty, ICOBS and FCA Handbook/PRA Legislation.Reviewing and updating the suite of contracts, ensuring compliance.Negotiating key Commercial Agreements for the business within Insurance.The successful candidate must have Insurance experience - this is essential to the role. You will be a mid-level senior lawyer (5-years PQE), having worked in Private Practice and/or In-House within Insurance. Being able to work independently and autonomously is a major plus, as well as being confident in explaining complex Insurance Law to internal stakeholders in layman's terms.Attractive Salary & Package on offer, including bonus and other great benefits.
