Legal Negotiator - Prime Brokerage, Clearing, Equities

Key permanent role at Associate/Senior Associate grade with a leading European banking group, located in London.

This well established business unit covers the contract negotiation function for a range of trading agreements for the equities division, including OTC and exchange traded derivatives, clearing and prime brokerage business, and is currently looking for an experienced equities documentation negotiator with a focus on serving the clients of the Institutional Equities Division.

Remit:

• Identifying necessary documentation for the clients to trade securities or OTC and exchange traded derivatives and perform related due diligence scans.
• Drafting and negotiating legal documentation (included master agreements, amendments, and ancillary documents such as prime brokerage agreements, listed and OTC derivatives clearing agreements, ISDA, MCAs, GMSLA, etc.)
• Handling client negotiations and any related projects to ensure timely execution and completion.
• Liaising with various internal stakeholders within the Credit, Risk Management, Legal and Sales departments to negotiate contractual terms and respond to questions.

Experience Sought:

• Prior experience in a law firm or the financial services institution documenting and negotiating complex trading agreements.
• Proven experience in having negotiated derivative, prime brokerage and/or clearing legal documents.
• Degree in law / business administration degree or equivalent.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent people skills.
