Job Description - Level 2 Teaching Assistants - SEMH

A Primary SEMH School/PRU in Salford is looking for three enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistants (TA2) to join their supportive team which caters for primary aged children with SEMH needs and/or who have been permanently excluded. These Teaching Assistant roles will be based across the school, helping to create a safe and inclusive learning environment. This is a welcoming, community-focused school with a strong commitment to inclusion and pupil wellbeing. Their staff work collaboratively to provide a positive, nurturing environment where every child can thrive. The school offers modern facilities and a caring ethos that values creativity, teamwork, and respect.

Location: Salford
Contract: Full-time, Temporary (Potential temp to perm)
Start Date: ASAP
Rate: Up to £125

About the Role

Support pupils with SEMH and Behavioural needs across the school
Assist teachers in delivering engaging lessons and interventions.
Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation using agreed strategies.
Contribute to creating a calm, structured environment for learning.
Essential Requirements:

Teaching Assistant Level 2 qualification (or equivalent experience)
Team Teach trained - confident in using positive behaviour support techniques
Experience supporting children with SEMH needs, preferably within a SEMH school, PRU or care setting
Ability to work effectively as part of a team and build strong relationships
