Full time: Monday-Friday (7.75 hours per day)

Salary: £28,000

We are seeking a Level 3 Educator to join a community owned nursery in Brockley. The educator will be providing high quality care and education for all children who attend by delivering an active play-based learning programme in a caring, relaxed and vibrant environment. The educator should be able to perform in a stimulating learning environment that encourages children to learn and develop through play.

Duties:

• Encouraging children’s wellbeing with nutritional health when attending to children in breakfast clubs
• Support and encourage children with make their own choices, empowering them to be independent learners
• Observe, assess the range of resources and experiences they give to each child in relation to the Early Years Foundation Stage
• Respond to each child’s emerging needs and interests
• Encourage children through daily activities with warm and positive interactions
• Planning and guiding children’s activities by reflecting on the ways different children learn and practice
• Assist with nappy and clothing changing
• Assist with toilet training
• Open up all areas of the garden by removing the tar pooling and letting children choose what they would like to play with, giving them independence
• Assist children with washing up at the snack bar, serve up their own food and promote social time by interacting with other children
• Observe children’s behaviour and progress when performing activities
• Regularly record each children’s progress on the weekly observation sheet
• Ensure that work is carried out in line with all relevant statutory children's legislation and comply with Ofsted standards and registration.

Qualifications:

• NVQ Level 2/3 in childcare or early years (or equivalent)
• Minimum of 1-2 years of Early Years childcare experience
• Confident verbal and non-verbal communication
• Eligible to work in the UK
• Full enhanced DBS
• Up to date CV
