We are seeking an experienced NDT Engineer- level 3 to join a leading aerospace manufacturing organisation. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified NDT Engineer – level 3 to take technical ownership of Non-Destructive Testing activities, supporting production, quality, and New Product Introduction (NPI) programmes within a NADCAP-accredited environment.
The successful NDT Engineer will act as the organisation's designated Level 3, providing technical leadership across NDT processes while ensuring compliance with aerospace industry standards and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities for the appointed NDT Engineer
Act as the designated NDT Level 3, providing technical authority across approved inspection methods. Develop, approve, and maintain NDT procedures and techniques in line with NAS410, EN4179, and NADCAP requirements. Lead NDT activities during New Product Introduction (NPI), ensuring inspection processes are production-ready. Define inspection methods, validation requirements, and acceptance criteria for new products. Support engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure inspection requirements align with design and production needs. Maintain NDT work instructions, procedures, and written practices. Drive NADCAP compliance and support internal and external audits. Lead root cause and corrective action activities relating to NDT and quality issues. Qualify, certify, and mentor Level 1 and Level 2 NDT personnel. Support supplier development and approval of NDT capabilities. Review engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements to ensure correct inspection application. Promote continuous improvement across NDT processes, capability, and compliance.Key Requirements for the selected NDT Engineer
Certified Level 3 NDT qualification in accordance with NAS410 / EN4179 (RT & PT). Previous experience working as an NDT Engineer within the manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of NADCAP requirements, including AC7114. Experience developing and approving NDT procedures, techniques, and written practices. Experience leading NPI activities and implementing inspection processes. Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.Desirable Skills for the selected NDT Engineer
Experience with digital radiography systems such as Dürr CR 35. Experience supporting NADCAP audits and corrective action closure. Experience developing supplier NDT capabilities. Knowledge of AS9100 quality requirements and RCCA methodologies.This position can also be referred to as NDT Specialist, Senior NDT Engineer, NDT Level 3, Level 3 NDT Engineer
