The Role

As an HMO Licensing Officer, you'll play a key role in delivering the council's HMO Licensing service, ensuring licence applications are processed efficiently and in line with current legislation.

Key Responsibilities

Process HMO Licensing applications, renewals and variations
Validate licence applications and supporting documentation
Maintain accurate licensing records and housing databases
Respond to enquiries from landlords, managing agents and tenants
Support Private Sector Housing and Housing Standards teams with licensing administration
Assist with compliance monitoring and case management

Essential Experience

Previous experience as an HMO Licensing Officer, Licensing Administrator or within a Private Sector Housing team
Strong knowledge of HMO Licensing legislation and licensing processes
Experience working within a Local Authority
Strong administrative skills with excellent attention to detail
Experience using housing or licensing management systems is desirable
