The Role
Reporting directly to the Service Manager, you will take ownership of your workload and be confident working independently on a wide range of customer vehicles and trailers. Previous diagnostic and fault-finding experience would be highly advantageous.
Key Responsibilities
Carrying out servicing, maintenance and repairs to HGVs, light vehicles and trailers Diagnosing and rectifying mechanical and electrical faults MOT preparation work Attending roadside breakdowns and disabled vehicles when required Liaising with the parts department to source required components Completing job cards and service documentation accurately and on time Maintaining workshop cleanliness and safe working practices Following all customer site procedures and health & safety regulations Keeping up to date with product knowledge and attending training courses
The Ideal Candidate
NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds qualified Technician or equivalent industry experience Recent experience within the motor trade in a similar role (within the last 2 years) Strong diagnostic and repair skills Full UK Driving Licence HGV Licence beneficial but not essential Ability to work independently and as part of a team Excellent communication and customer service skills Flexible and proactive approach to work Strong understanding of Health & Safety procedures Own tools are essential
