Job Description - Line Operator


Business Area: Nestle Beverages
Location: Dalston, Cumbria


Salary: £44,424.36 (inclusive of shift allowance and contractual OT)


 


Shift pattern: These are 4 on 4 off 12 hours shifts (2 days and 2 nights) within our 24hr, 7-day, 52 weeks operation.

We are recruiting for Line Operators at our coffee manufacturing plant in Dalston, Cumbria. These will be permanent opportunities which will report into the Shift Manager on site.


 


Nestlé’s Dalston Factory in Cumbria is the European Centre for cappuccino and creamers producing a range of beverage products. These are produced through a highly automated PLC controlled process plant and automated filling and packing lines. It is continually developing and expanding leading brands such as Nescafé, Aero Hot Chocolate and Coffee-mate. The factory is moving forward with continuous improvement principles and actively developing Lean/TPM processes so it’s an exciting time to be involved.

Your impact


 


Ultimately, you will be responsible ensuring production lines runs safely and efficiently in accordance with Nestle standards. Our aim is to reduce consumer complaints, to produce quality products, and to protect the Nescafe brand.


 


Your key responsibilities will include:


 



  • Running equipment adhering to all Nestle safety and quality standards.

  • Timely reporting of line issues and stoppages to relevant leadership on shift.

  • Use the 5 golden rules of TPM to improve line performance in all areas.

  • Continuously update own technical and operational skills.


 


Your ingredients for success


 



  • Experience in a manufacturing and production environment.

  • Previous Line Operator experience within a manufacturing environment is preferred.

  • FLT driving experience and licences are preferred but in house training can be provided.



  • Will be able to demonstrate strong competencies and behaviours.

  • Will have the ability to work as part of a team delivering compliance in safety, quality and production processes.
