Design Manager | Food & Drink | London | Hybrid | 12 month contract

Our partner: Our client is a global illustrated publisher with a strong reputation for beautifully designed lifestyle books that inform and inspire. Known for innovation in design and visual storytelling, their books bring together expert content and striking aesthetics.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the creative development of food and drink titles from concept through to print, including cover and interior design
- Commission and manage photography, illustration, and styling to deliver market -leading visual content
- Collaborate with editorial and acquisitions teams to ensure creative alignment across each project
- Line manage a junior designer, providing feedback, coaching, and support to nurture design talent
- Maintain oversight of multiple projects, ensuring delivery to schedule, budget, and high creative standards
Experience and skills that will deliver success in this role: The right candidate is an ambitious and imaginative book design professional, with a strong commercial mindset and proven experience in lifestyle publishing. You will bring:
- A strong design -led portfolio of illustrated non -fiction lifestyle reference titles
- Experience managing design projects from end to end, including commissioning and art direction
- A collaborative approach and excellent communication skills across editorial, design and external contributors
- Proven ability to juggle multiple deadlines while maintaining creative integrity and attention to detail
- A clear aptitude for mentoring and team development (formal line management experience is not essential)
