Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Senior Associate specialising in Contested Probate to join a leading litigation team. This role suits an ambitious solicitor with strong technical skills in contentious probate, ready for increased responsibility, or an experienced practitioner seeking a supportive and challenging new opportunity. Key Responsibilities:
Handling a diverse caseload of contested probate matters, including will challenges, claims under the Inheritance Act 1975, and disputes involving estate administration.
Providing strategic, sensitive, and confident advice to clients throughout emotionally complex litigation.
Managing cases from inception through to trial, including mediation and court proceedings.
Collaborating effectively with Private Client and Dispute Resolution colleagues to deliver comprehensive client services.
Actively engaging in business development activities to enhance the firm's contested probate practice.
Supporting and mentoring junior team members.
Building strong and lasting client relationships through clear and personalised communication.
Requirements:
Solicitor with 5-8 years’ PQE specialising in contested probate.
ACTAPS or STEP membership, or currently pursuing membership, is essential.
Demonstrable experience in High Court hearings and trials.
Proven track record in business development and client generation.
Supervisory experience preferred.
Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and capability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Strong academic background (LLB 2:1 or above).
